What's the Turkey Trot?
The Turkey Trot is a 5K run/walk held every year in Greensburg, PA on Thanksgiving Day. This event was created by five friends who ran every day at lunch. They created a non-profit called Westmoreland Community Sharing to develop this race and 30 years later, their event is still going strong! When you participate in the trot, you are supporting multiple non-profits in your community.
Everyone is encouraged to participate! Serious and casual runners, competitive and casual walkers, and family and friends of ALL AGES.

A NOTE FROM THE COMMITTEE CHAIR
It is said that choices in life are easy, the consequences are not. Serving a greater purpose is usually never easy or convenient since it always seems at odds with the demands of daily life. Rest assured, there is no greater reward than to be the beacon that shines light on those most deserving who have devoted their time and talents to enable this very event. It is definitely fuel for the soul! Those who have enabled the very success of our race have given from their hearts and overcome every obstacle that nature and the logistics of man have created. What they have done is to create not only a race but a community tradition that has embraced the warmth of the very meaning and intention of Thanksgiving
Our event has experienced crisis that has been overcome time and again by those devoted special friends. There may not be a better reward than to overcome a great obstacle surrounded by those about whom you most care. All of you who participate today share in this victory. We dare to do these things because they are good and the purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better for others.

$10 – Registration fee PER DOG. Proceeds benefit Humane Society of Westmoreland County in Memory of Kathleen H. Burkley.
*13 years old and younger
**Late registrants ARE NOT guaranteed a commemorative T-Shirt; only cotton shirts will be available.

Clydesdale (>200 lbs.) is for runners only.
Awards
Awards are presented following the completion of the race.
Find out if you placed by heading back to the starting area, near the front doors of the Court House building.
Team Challenges
Participate with your family, celebrate your high school spirit, or bring your coworkers, and join in the fun!
Unlimited family, high school, and corporate team members registered as a group in either the run or walk category.
Top 3 finish times will be averaged together to determine winning of the Bupp Family Cup, High School and Corporate Cup trophy.
Each member of your team will also be eligible to be ranked in an individual age category.
Race Timing*
Timing will be done during the race through electronic chips. Your time will de displayed on the time keepers website.
Shirt Pick-Up
Available at the Westmoreland County Courthouse.
